A representative of Wolf & Company Chicago was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official opening date and what Wolf & Company plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, according to a recent tweet from B Talent, “The owners of Little Bad Wolf and Gretel in Chicago are opening Wolf & Company in West Town. First 2 floors of the newer residential building at 1752 N Western Ave. Next to The 606. Less than a mile from Gretel.”

Listed on the permit filing are three people: Sol Ashbach, Konstandinos Lappas, and Ankur Joshi. When doing a bit more research, Sol is listed as the manager for multiple businesses. There are seven businesses with Sol’s name, including Little Bad Wolf and Gretel.

Little Bad Wolf was formerly The Burger Philosophy, according to an article from the Chicago Eater written back in 2014. “After three years on the corner of Bryn Mawr at Clark, The Burger Philosophy, an Andersonville storefront kitchen focusing on premium burgers and hand-cut fries, has closed with an eye toward a complete re-concept.”

“Sources say the new spot will be more of a sit-down bar/restaurant experience rather than counter service, with the name Little Bad Wolf appearing on Twitter as the official new moniker,” the article adds. The Burger Philosophy is listed as one of the active business filings for Sol.

According to an article from Block Club Chicago written back in 2019, “Ashbach and his team ran the counter joint Burger Philosophy in Edgewater before opening Little Bad Wolf in 2014. Little Bad Wolf is a fusion restaurant serving burgers, tacos, baos, and entrees like pan-seared white fish and steak frites. It also has a full bar.”
