While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, according to Puffy Cake’s Instagram biography section, they will open their doors sometime this year.

“Welcome to Puffy Cakes, your go-to destination for delectable desserts made with love. We opened in 2023 with a mission to bring the most unique and mouth-watering desserts you’ve ever tasted to Chicago. Using only the finest ingredients and techniques, we strive to make each dessert a work of art,” the company website states.

“We specialize in serving our unique take on Japanese Cheesecake – a creamy, yet delightfully light and fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth sweet treat. Enjoy it on its own or paired with one of our signature sauce toppings to take your puffy cake to another level.”

“In addition to our signature dessert, we offer a variety of delectable tarts and other sweet treats. As a perfect pairing to your dessert, we’re proud to partner with La Colombe coffee roasters to offer you premium coffee and chai beverage options.”

Alongside their Japanese cheesecake option, stated to be “A light and fluffy dessert with a delicate texture that melts in your mouth, combining the richness of traditional cheesecake with the airy and spongy qualities of a soufflé,” they also state two additional menu options of a cheese or chocolate tart on the website.

The cheese tart is described as “A melt-in-your-mouth cream cheese tart combining a delightfully smooth filling that’s perfectly set within a crumbly crust,” while the chocolate tart is described as “Combines the rich and velvety texture of chocolate with the creamy and tangy flavors of cheese, all nestled in a buttery and flaky crust.”
