“Our goal opening date is April 1st, but it’s hard to say official with everything needing to be done. Charlie’s will be our take on a modern version of a supper club,” partner of Charlie Martin’s, Eric Fosse, told What Now Chicago.

“It will have a small restaurant with a large bar. The restaurant will seat 60 people alongside the 20-seat bar. The property was the right size and scale we were searching for to create the vibe of Charlie Martin’s we had in mind.”

Charlie Martin’s will be a small, intimate, white tablecloth, fun, and sort of jazzy vibe. We named Charlie’s after my wife’s great uncle who was a writer, producer, etc. in the late 40s, 50s, and 60s.”

“The building was another restaurant for 10 years, and before that a jazz club for another 10 years, so the building has history! Charlie’s will have super good food, bar options, and service executed to a high level. We aim to provide a high-touch service in a great location,” Fosse added.

Behind Charlie Martin’s is not only Eric Fosse but Glenn Deutsch of Lot No. 2. According to Lot No. 2’s website, “Lot No.2 was founded by Eric Fosse and Glenn Deutsch with the sole purpose of creating the places where your stories begin.”

“There’s life, and there are the places where you live it. Settings that play host to your passions and joys. Places that inspire experiences and frame the mental snapshots you carry with you — the markers of a life well lived.”
