A representative of Divan Chicago was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official opening date and overall information have yet to be released about Divan, according to the company website, Divan will be “An Exclusive New Steakhouse & Supper Club Experience.”

According to Chicago’s Business Search and the permit filing, Divan Chicago will come from 868 Franklin Operating LLC. Both the business file and permit filing list the agent as Gordin V Hardin Jr., with the permit filing adding Baubak Bader as the managing member.

According to Loop Net about the property that will be home to Divan Chicago, the building size is listed as being approximately 9,500 square feet. The building was originally built in 1921, with a renovation taking place in 2013.

Loop Net continues to state that the property is nestled within a designated Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) area. This fully-furnished restaurant property offers not only a rich history as the long-time home of the nationally acclaimed MK Restaurant but also presents substantial development potential.

Boasting a total area of approximately 9,589 square feet, with 5,715 square feet on the ground and second levels and an additional 3,874 square feet on the lower level, this property provides a versatile canvas for various uses. The existing C1-5 zoning not only accommodates a variety of purposes but also allows for the construction of an additional 24,000 square feet of new building space without requiring zoning relief.
