A representative of Sunny Village Cafe was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to the article, “Sunny Village Cafe, a coffee shop and kids play place, is opening in Jefferson Park next month. The cafe, 5918 W. Lawrence Ave., will feature a play area, a full-service coffee counter and tables where parents and caregivers can work.”

“Though a “kids cafe,” Sunny Village will be a place where “adults can feel like adults and kids can be kids,” owner Georgena Hurst said. Sunny Village, which Hurst hopes to open in mid-September, has a lot of sensory play items that will help children develop their fine motor skills while allowing them to be creative.”

“The cafe will serve a wide variety of coffees from nearby Perkolator Coffee, teas, prepackaged juices, overnight oats, protein balls, seasonal fruits, a cherry limeade, a strawberryade, and a blueberry orangeade. Baked goods from Delightful Pastries, which is across the street, and gluten- and nut-free cookies from Avondale-based You’re a Cookie will be available.”

“The entrance to the cafe has a check-in counter and a small shop with toys and games. In the cafe, a wall of tables and outlets offers caregivers space to work while watching their children. The seating area and the play space are gated, and customers must take off their shoes before entering. Children must be 6 or younger.”
