“The owners of one of Chicago’s most popular Greek restaurants, Avli, have plans to debut a quick-service restaurant this fall in Fulton Market. According to a news release, Pitaki’s menu will include pita wraps, bowls, savory pies, salads, and desserts. A rep says there are about 20 seats inside, and they plan to add patio seating in 2025.”

“Avli founder Louie Alexakis created the menu with an assist from the new director of culinary David Tsirekas. Tsirekas has worked with Avli since 2018 when Avli Taverna opened in Lincoln Park. That location was Avli’s first in the city. The first restaurant, Avli Rotisserie, opened in 2015 in suburban Winnetka.”

“Since then Avli has opened in River North, Lake Shore East, and a stint inside the Time Out Market Chicago. Avli has also partnered with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on a location in Milwaukee. The former MVP plays for the Bucks and stars for Greece’s men’s basketball team — Germany defeated them in the Olympic quarterfinals earlier in August. Fox Chicago sports anchor Lou Canellis is also on the Avli ownership team.”

“Beyond food, Pitaki will also sell pantry items, books, and other merchandise, according to the release. Pitaki is one of three venues Avli has planned. A full-service restaurant should open sometime in mid-2025 at 954 W. Fulton Market.”

“With Greektown nearby, the full-service spot will provide an upscale alternative alongside DineAmic Hospitality Group’s Lyra. Meanwhile, Morgan’s on Fulton, one of the city’s premier private event spaces, continues operation. A rep says that eventually, Avli will announce renovation and expanded menu offerings.”
