The team behind AJ Hudson’s Public House will open a new concept in spring 2022, according to a Craigslist advertisement placed on December 13th. In a call for an executive chef, the advertisement reads, “Executive Chef for AJ Hudson’s Public House and a new concept to open Spring 2022.” According to the ad, the new eatery, like AJ Hudson’s, will be an elevated English Pub with a “Beverage Director’s cocktail program.” The new restaurant will have its own menu.

We reached out to owner Jamie Hale for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication, so the eatery’s timeline currently remains unclear. A location for the restaurant was not listed on the advertisement.

AJ Hudson’s originally operated as Ginger’s Ale House for nearly 20 years, before Hale, one of the founding members, took over the operation and reimagined it about a decade ago. Hale and Julia Shell also opened The Dandy Crown in December 2019.

AJ Hudson’s is described as “Chicago’s original soccer pub” and offers “fine food, elevated spirits, craft beer, and superior cocktails.” Although the unnamed concept remains somewhat mysterious at the time, we suspect you can bank on finding some of those great, enduring vibes at the new spot soon.

Keep an eye on AJ Hudson’s social media for updates.
