A representative of Celtic Knot Public House was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official address and opening date have yet to be released, according to the company website, “The Celtic Knot Public House will close at its current location on Sunday, April 30, 2023. We are working with people from the City of Evanston and others to secure an alternative location so that we can reopen in the community we love.”

“Our menu features pub grub, traditional tavern fare, fresh salads, exceptional entrees, and desserts prepared daily. We offer a solid selection of imported beers and domestic craft brews, a worldwide wine list, whiskey galore, and a full line of spirits.”

“The inviting dark wooded interior includes a bar area and a spacious and comfortable candlelit restaurant. There is regular weekly live entertainment including live music and storytelling. We never charge a cover.”

“The Celtic Knot is run by husband and wife team Liz and Patrick Breslin. Patrick Breslin, originally from County Down, first opened the restaurant in 2005. Breslin grew up in a small town where the pub was the center of the community.”

“He went to the pub regularly with his family where anything that happened in the village occurred. Breslin’s goal was to recreate that same atmosphere at The Celtic Knot.  While we encourage lively conversation and engagement, we also offer plenty of entertainment of the Irish variety. There is live music four nights a week, which includes bluegrass and traditional Irish music.”
