While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, from its inception, Honey Butter has been dedicated to a mission of sustainability, local support, and reducing its ecological footprint.

Whenever possible, Honey Butter sources its ingredients from local farms scattered across the verdant Midwest. This commitment to local farmers aims to help sustain local economies and promote the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in their dishes.

The restaurant uses only antibiotic-free, cage-free, and humanely-raised chicken in its recipes. Additionally, Honey Butter employs non-GMO, trans-fat-free Canola oil for frying, emphasizing responsible sourcing and a commitment to ethical food production. A significant environmental initiative, Honey Butter employs a closed-loop oil system to recycle used fryer oil. Nearly all of the used oil is collected and subsequently repurposed for bio-diesel fuel, significantly reducing waste and environmental impact.

The restaurant actively strives to minimize food waste through diligent inventory management and thoughtful ingredient usage. By creatively utilizing ingredient scraps that might typically be discarded, Honey Butter minimizes its ecological footprint. Food waste that cannot be repurposed is processed through composting and also prioritizes recycling by responsibly managing aluminum, glass, plastic, and cardboard materials.

As a counter-service restaurant, Honey Butter caters to various dining preferences, offering in-house dining, carry-out, catering, and delivery options. Importantly, Honey Butter follows a hospitality-included model, where menu item prices cover all aspects, from food and beverages to staff benefits and wages, eliminating the need for service charges, according to the company website.
