According to a recent Daily Herald article, Dom’s Kitchen & Market aims to open another location at the Hawthorn Mall redevelopment in Vernon Hills.
A Dom’s Kitchen & Market representative was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.
According to the article, “Along Route 60, plans for a Dom’s Kitchen & Market are under review. The specialty grocery store features a coffee and wine bar and a selection of chef-prepared meals. The company’s first suburban location is expected to open in 2025.”
Dom’s Kitchen and Market’s company website provides four main sections, with those sections being the brew, the kitchen, the market, and catering. The brew, or the cafe, is described as “Alive from dawn ‘till dusk, The Brew serves a thoughtful array of breakfast sandwiches, assorted pastries, and cheese boards designed to complement our contemporary beverages. The Brew is an all-day café offering fuel to seize the day and libations to wind down.”
“The Kitchen prepares ready-to-eat meals! Well-crafted, locally sourced, globally-inspired food made to order — just for you. Selections are made using the carefully curated food found in our market,” the website states. The Kitchen includes The Stackup, Plant Butcher, Gohan, Bonchi, L’Osteria, and Chef’s Table.
The Village of Vernon Hills website describes the redevelopment as, “Hawthorn Mall’s transformation offers a signature, unique to-market vibrancy around the clock. With the addition of elevated full-service and specialty restaurants, activated green space programmed with community events, and an enhanced retail experience throughout the entire project combined with high-quality residences, Hawthorn Mall will become a top Chicagoland destination for the immediate and surrounding trade areas.”
