A representative of Consume was not able to provide additional commentary at this time upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official date for the change of locations has yet to be confirmed, Consume is a place described as hosting a carefully curated collection of craft beers, whiskeys, bourbons, spirits, and wines that harmoniously coexist with a dedication to sourcing the purest and freshest ingredients. At Consume, it all boils down to a simple mission: to offer exceptional food and drinks within a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, according to their website.

For seven years, Consume has lived at 569 W. Route 22, described as earning a reputation as a beloved bottle shop and gastropub in the Lake Zurich community. The proposed plan would see Consume’s relocation to a 85,819-square-foot parcel, located at what is affectionately referred to as “Block A.”

The blueprint for this development is currently in the process of being submitted to the village. Consume’s restaurant will occupy the second floor of the building, providing diners with the opportunity to enjoy their meals while enjoying a viewpoint of the lake, with large balconies as well. The business will also continue to operate a bottle shop within one of the three commercial tenant spaces on the first floor.

Originally owned by several private individuals, Block A is stated to have eventually become village property through a series of fair-market real estate acquisitions from 2002 to 2006, according to the Daily Herald’s article.
