The restaurant, now owned by 8 Hospitality Group, led by CEO Carmen Rossi will reopen later this year. The new ownership plans to build upon the traditional Italian dining experience, which previously consisted of a signature martini list, two mahogany bars, and an open kitchen. A recent job posting suggests the restaurant is nearing its reopening. The new crew will be responsible for reviving Cafe Bionda’s original experience with a modern flare.

This isn’t the first restaurant from the Chicago-based hospitality group. 8 Hospitality Group is also responsible for several clubs and eateries throughout Chicagoland, including the Hubbard Inn, MASQ, Joy District, Old Grounds Social, The Dime, HVACPUB, LIQR, Flash Dance Club, and Cardozo’s Pub. This group is not to be confused with Connecticut’s Locals 8 Hospitality Group or South Florida’s Society 8 Hospitality Group.

When Cafe Bionda reopens later this year, customers can expect the same delicious Italian menu full of antipasti, soups, and salads to start. For dinner, customers can have dozens of entrees that range from brick chicken to pasta marinara. Some signature dinner entrees include veal piccata, fettuccine lobster, and chicken piccata. It is unknown if the new owner will add or remove any menu items.

Correction: The article previously misstated the previous owners as Chef Joe Farina and Kim Burke. A representative from the former informed WNLA Farina has not been involved with the establishment in any way for over 12 years.
