A representative of Jackson & Co was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to an article from Journal & Topics, “The proposed restaurant at 1749 Glenview Rd. is scheduled to open by the end of 2024.”

“It calls for a 5,788 square foot interior and 1,160 square foot exterior patio with 110 dining room seats, 66 seats at the bar, and an additional 88 patio seats for use during warmer weather.”

“The new restaurant will have a name, which has historical significance in Glenview: Jackman & Co. It is unclear why Ballyhoo chose that name, but Edwin Jackman is noted as the one who commissioned the bear sculpture and fountain currently located in Glenview Park named in his honor: Jackman Park. The image of what is called the Jackman Bear atop the fountain’s column is also included in the village seal.”

“The building’s proposed exterior facade features one side of the main entrance doors in dark, almost black-green painted stone, the oversized doors themselves under an archway of limestone cased in exposed red brick, extending to the other side of the doors through the remainder of the facade, with ornamental windows and awnings. Greenery will live atop the roof and around the exterior of the windows. The patio looks over a stepped-down lawn onto the river bank,” the article adds.
