“We are still in the process of opening and have just finished with construction. Now we are waiting for city inspections this week. We are also waiting on a liquor license and hope to incorporate that by mid-June,” co-owner Nikola Paunovic told What Now Chicago.
“We will be open Tuesday through Sunday for dinners, and Amaro will offer an Italian-fusion menu. My partner Nemanja Menicanin, and I, both have a lot of experience in the industry. We have been doing this for over 22 years in Chicago.”
“We both are Serbian and have been friends since childhood. We grew up together and are from the same neighborhood. I travel a lot and have experienced many places in the Mediterranean. With that in mind, we want to incorporate Mediterranean cuisine into the menu.”
“There will be homemade pasta, in-house, fresh fish every day, and we want to play with the appetizers. The menu is almost fully curated. This is our first restaurant. It will have a smaller menu with 35 seats inside and a beautiful patio.”
“Amano will have a small and intimate atmosphere, with an open-concept kitchen. There will be a lot of light and colors, as well as big chandeliers. There are a lot of fun and interesting colors in Amano, with a lot of plants and flowers.”
