The new bar/ hangout spot will move into the former home of Clark Street Pool Hall/ Pressure Billiards, according to Block Club Chicago. Owners Christina and Heather Roberts have purchased a few new pool tables, plus are adding high-top tables, an arcade, pinball machines, and six TVs to create an “upscale sports bar.” The duo has worked for years to create their “dream bar,” and they finally get ready to open in late-Spring 2022, likely early June, according to Christina Roberts.
On top of creating the ultimate sports-watching bar, the couple is also adding a kitchen with food service, cocktails, and a non-alcoholic drink menu. Towards the front of the building, guests can expect to find a lounge area with couches, chairs, and low tables, ideal for groups. Finally, there will be a space for live entertainment, so Whiskey Girl Tavern can eventually host live comedy and musical acts. Ultimately, the owners aim to create a space open to all, much like Andersonville’s Back Lot Bash, which Christina Roberts co-founded.
“We want to [create] a neighborhood bar that is very welcoming, is comfortable, and has a lot to offer the community,” Heather Roberts said. “The plan is for this space to be very versatile. Our goal is to add to the neighborhood and create more options.”
