According to a recent permit filing, Southport Betty’s has filed for 2856 North Southport Avenue.

A representative of Southport Betty’s was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official opening date and what Southport Betty’s plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, the permit filing for Southport Betty’s was filed under Southport LLC. Three managing members are listed: Robert White, Dimitri Syrkin-Nikolau, and Chad Mcconneghy.

According to an article from Southport Corridor Chicago, “The address mentioned in the profile, 2856 N. Southport, holds significant relevance as the former location of the former Diag and 404 Wine Bar.”

“An Instagram account, shrouded in mystery and intrigue, by the name of “SouthportBettys” has suddenly materialized, leaving curious residents buzzing with speculation. The account goes by the handle @SouthportBettys, The profile description reads: “Coming soon…🕺🏼💃🏼 2856 N Southport”. They have also created a Facebook page.”

Southport Betty’s Instagram page shows the space undergoing renovations. The most recent post shows the creation of the interior being customized, or Betty’s “masterpiece.” Loop Net confirms that the space was formerly Diag and 404 Wine Bar. The property was built in 1900 and boasts 12,850 square feet of space.
