A representative of Karavan was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

While an official opening date for Karavan has yet to be confirmed, according to the company website, they will be opening their doors soon.

“In 2010, we founded our little restaurant on the north side of Chicago. We named it Jibek Jolu to convey the rich culinary and cultural background that the restaurant would represent. In ten years, we expanded our team, menu, and services we offer.”

“Jibek Jolu or “The Silk Road”, derives its name from the famous silk trade route which connected many trades and cultures creating a sprawling network. As a result, our menu reflects a synthesis of cuisines from Post-Soviet countries, Turkey, Persia, India, and beyond, allowing you to experience the flavors of many cultures all at one stop.”

“Jibek Jolu is a family-owned restaurant, we pride ourselves on including many different culinary and cultural influences. We serve a variety of unique cuisine made from scratch; hand-pulled noodles, handmade dumplings, savory pies, perfectly seasoned tender meat, delicious vegetarian meals, native brewed tea, and decadent homemade desserts.”
