At the beginning of last month, the owners of Pho No. 1 Vietnamese Cuisine posted a slightly cryptic message across the eatery’s social media channel: “Dear Customers, Starting this week, we are temporarily closed on Tuesday every week to work on new and exciting project. More announcement to come!” Well, a liquor license application filed with the City of Chicago may assist in decoding this post.

Son Ton and Ngocanh Thi Do filed a liquor license application for a new concept to be called Pho No.1 Brewing Co. The new eatery, which self-describes as a brewpub, is slated to open at 7958 W. Belmont Avenue. Speaking with What Now Chicago, Ton confirmed the new project, which will open in Belmont Heights, just down the street from Club Belmont and Tony D’s.

Although not a lot has been revealed just yet about Pho No.1 Brewing Co, it’s not a reach to say patrons can expect the same great experience afforded by the owners’ first restaurant. Pho. No.1 Vietnamese Cuisine is known for great Pho as well as other Vietnamese delicacies like Café Phin.

Keep an eye on Pho No.1’s social media for updates.
