A representative of Annie’s Restaurant and Pancake House was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to the article, this will be the second location for Annie’s second Illinois Valley location and has a goal opening date for later this year.

“Owner Annie Basa had no timeline as to when the Ottawa restaurant will open as the building is under renovation. Basa said it will be similar to the Peru location, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as nighttime entertainment such as karaoke.”

“The restaurant will open at 729 Chestnut St., which was the longtime home of Carretto’s Bar and Bowl that shuttered in the late 2000s. A six-lane bowling alley is in an adjacent part of the building, but Basa has no plans for it. Built in 1896, the space began as a dance hall until 1925 when it was converted into a bowling alley. The Carretto family bought the business in 1966 and opened the restaurant until the family sold it in 2004.”

Annie’s website tells us more about the restaurant, stating, “Amid the challenging times of 2020, we emerged as a beacon of comfort and flavor, dedicated to bringing joy to your table. Our journey began with a mission to offer more than just meals; we aimed to craft memories.”

“Nestled in Palatine, Peru, and soon to be in Ottawa, Annie’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a welcoming home where families gather, friends reunite, and strangers become friends. Our family-friendly ambiance resonates in every corner, enveloping you in warmth from the moment you step in.”

“But our hospitality doesn’t stop at the threshold. The rhythm of Annie’s extends into the nights – Thursdays and Fridays come alive with an inviting nightlife that dances to the rhythm of shared laughter and delicious aromas. followed by performances and karaoke!”

“Driven by a philosophy that values simplicity, affordability, and lasting impressions, Annie’s prides itself on a menu as diverse as the community we serve. From mouthwatering classics that everyone adores to low-calorie and healthy choices that delight the senses without compromising flavor, there’s something to entice every palate.”

“At Annie’s, we don’t just serve meals; we offer experiences. A symphony of flavors dances on your taste buds, creating harmonious memories that linger long after the last bite. Some locations even offer private rooms to provide the perfect canvas for your gatherings, turning moments into cherished memories.”
