The second location for The Dearborn is set to come to O’Hare in the first half of 2024.
This women-owned business is expanding to an airport for the first time with this concept. Opened by Irish immigrant sisters, Amy and Clodagh Lawless, The Dearborn first came to the restaurant scene in Chicago in 2016. The original outpost is located in Chicago’s Theater District.
The new The Dearborn restaurant in T-5 will be owned and operated in a partnership between President of Airbrands, John Wober and Master ConcessionAir (MCA). Airbrands is a 100% Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) operator, allowing space for small businesses and disadvantaged individuals to have an equal playing field in getting their foot in the door with federally funded transportation contracts.
The Dearborn is known as an urban-American tavern with a sit-down environment. This specific concept will offer a marketplace for grab and go items, as well as a coffee counter. They are planning on having an expansive craft cocktail, wine and beer menu. The food they offer at The Dearborn, “caters to all ages and palates with an all-day menu of fan favorites like tavern-style pizza, fish & chips, Scottish egg, fried chicken, salads, soup, travel-ready items, and more,” the CDA shared with What Now Chicago.
The CDA reported that the new concept will create 50 concession jobs and 20 construction jobs.
President of Master ConcessionAir, Pete Amaro shared in the press release, “We are honored to be a part of the Terminal 5 upgrades and excited to bring this authentic Chicago food experience to O’Hare…We are proud to partner with the CDA , URW, The Dearborn and Airbrands to deliver a truly unique taste of Chicago to this world class airport.”
Dearborn is one of a number of restaurants announced to open in Terminal 5 come 2024.
