The newest additions to the block come from NPK Hospitality, which is also responsible for the upcoming Stay Cafe, opening soon near the music hall. Now, the hospitality group is getting ready to open two more bars near the music venue, starting with Bad Habit, a cocktail bar with a focus on tequila, mezcal, and small plates, according to Block Club Chicago. Next door, Smoke & Mirrors will serve as a late-night club with regular events, such as open mic nights and DJ sets.

First to open will be the breakfast and lunch-focused Stay Cafe, with the opening date set for the second week of November. The new eatery is expected to release a dinner menu shortly after opening. Bad Habit is scheduled to open shortly after. Last, Smoke & Mirrors does not have an official opening date. Nick Karounos, the venue’s owner, tells Block Club Chicago the nightclub will make its debut in the coming months.

“We really wanted to create something that was neighborhood-focused, that offered something for everybody, and also concepts that were different but had synergies between them,” Karounos tells the publication. “The idea is to have people flow through — come for dinner, then go to Bad Habit or flow into Smoke & Mirrors.”
