Growth has been on the Lou Malnati’s menu for some time now, with locations in Arizona expanding the brand’s foothold in the area. Back home, the Northbrook-based company boasts over 50 locations in the Chicago area.

According to the brand’s website, Lou Malnati’s is considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza. The man for whom the company is named got his start working in Chicago’s very first deep-dish pizzeria. Years later, he and his wife Jean opened their first restaurant in Lincolnwood.

While the company is still family-owned, now by Marc and Rick Malnati who are both the largest individual shareholders in the company, partial ownership has been acquired by the Meritage Group as of October 2021. This happened when BDT Capital, a Chicago-based firm, sold their interests.

We reached out to the pizzeria but did not hear back at the time of publication, so the opening timeline for Lou Malnati’s Hoffman Estates currently remains unclear.

We suggest you keep an eye on the brand’s social media so you don’t miss an update.
