This new bakery will serve “one-of-a-kind and exceptional” cakes from Japan, Hawaii, France, and Italy. Owner Jenny Yednak tells What Now Chicago the grand opening is planned for February 28 and even invited the town manager David Cincoski and Governor Eric Holcom to the event. She says she’s excited to be the first Filipino bakery in Indiana. What began as simply baking for birthday parties and family gatherings has quickly evolved into an upcoming brick-and-mortar.

“It’s true gourmet offerings,” Yednak tells NWI Times. “Baking is a passion I developed, which led to the beginning of my home business. It got busy, and once I booked more and more people, we needed to get our kitchen back and start doing business with a commercial retail store.”

While any cake can be customized for any special occasion, the bakery will offer 41 different flavors, including Black Forest, Lemon-curd, Mocha-Latte, Red Velvet, Triple Chocolate, Strawberry-Chantilly, Banana Velvet, and Vanilla Bean. No matter what flavor or occasion, Yednak strives to make every cake looking as perfect as possible. Some previous decoration themes include Lego, Fortnite, and Friday the 13th.

“I enjoy coming up with new and unique methods to make my cakes even more delicious,” Yednak says on the company’s website. “I love creating beautiful cakes, but flavorful cakes are just as important to me, if not, more so. I enjoy developing new flavors and combine them with my existing favorites like my grandma’s famous Ube Cake from the Philippines.”
