Yasemi, a modern Mediterranean restaurant inspired by the vibrant flavors and warm hospitality of the Mediterranean region, has officially opened its doors at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago (127 West Huron at LaSalle) in River North, Chicago. The latest venture from Soirée Hospitality Group (also behind ROOP Chicago, Bar Goa, and Monarch & Lion) brings a contemporary take on Mediterranean dining to the heart of the city.

Located on the first floor of The Godfrey Hotel, Yasemi offers an menu that blends traditional Mediterranean recipes with bold, modern twists, creating a dining experience that is both nostalgic and adventurous. With a strong focus on Greek cuisine and influences from Turkey, Italy, and Spain, the menu celebrates the diverse culinary heritage of the Mediterranean. Designed for communal dining, dishes are crafted for sharing, encouraging guests to connect over fresh, flavorful offerings, from vibrant spreads and hearty kabobs to larger plates—all made with high-quality ingredients.
Yasemi’s menu highlights include spreads like Whipped Harissa Feta and Charred Eggplant served with house-made and made-to-order pita or crudités; raw offerings such as Cipura Ceviche and Bronzini Crudo; mezze options including Grilled Octopus, Zucchini Fritters, and Cheese Pies with truffle honey; kabobs such as Chicken Tzatziki Avocado and Shrimp Harissa Mayo with herbed rice pilaf; and larger plates like Aegean Bronzini with fennel-turmeric sauce, Braised Lamb Shank, and Cauliflower Bravas with thyme aioli and bravas sauce. Each dish reflects Yasemi’s commitment to authentic Mediterranean flavors, paired with contemporary techniques.
The beverage program at Yasemi complements the flavors of its dishes with a Mediterranean twist on classic cocktails. Many of the ingredients used in the cocktails—such as spices and herbs—come directly from the kitchen, adding depth and authenticity. Cocktail highlights include:
- Greek Espresso Martini – A unique twist with house-made cinnamon simple syrup and Ouzo (Greek anise liqueur).
- Aegean Sunset – A bright blend of mango, passionfruit, and Fresno pepper.
- Blood Orange Paloma – Featuring oregano simple syrup and rimmed with Aleppo pepper and salt.
- Kiwi Kefi – Gin based Cocktail with oregano honey and a sumac rim for a distinct Mediterranean flavor.
The curated wine list features selections from Greece, Lebanon, Italy, and Spain, alongside local favorites from California, offering something for every palate.

Yasemi’s operating hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., and Sundays from 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The restaurant will be open on Monday and Tuesday evenings beginning January 13, and breakfast and room service in the coming weeks.
