“Our goal opening date is in June. We plan to offer things like our incredible Ox tail, rice & beans, and famous potato salad,” owner Felicia O’Connor told What Now Chicago.
“The story starts in a cozy kitchen, where a young girl named Felicia watches with wide eyes as her father, Rodrick, conjures culinary magic. He wasn’t just cooking; he was weaving stories into every simmering pot and sizzling pan, tales of The-STAND alone Kitchen and his experiences growing up. Years later, the father & daughter duo carries on her father’s legacy by bringing the vibrant flavors of Belize to Chicago!”
“The name comes from the great blue hole in Belize; it is one of the wonders of the world, which reminds me of the small boutique restaurant that my dad and I put together. It stands out; this is the first Central American restaurant with a twist that I have ever seen! It’s unique,” Felicia adds.
The Bloohol’s website states, “The Bloohol Belizean Cuisine is your new neighborhood joint serving up island vibes and seriously good eats.”
