The new restaurant is expected to open in late Fall 2022, according to the company’s website. Forte will offer a contemporary take on Mediterranean cuisine with elegant service, a classic cocktail program, and a global wine menu. The new restaurant will be operated by Levy Restaurants, which also operates other Chicago restaurants, such as American Girl Cafe, Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap, Kendall’s, Michael Jordan’s Steak House, River Roast, Terralina Crafted Italian, and many more.

The orchestra hall was built and opened in 1904, designed by renowned Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. More than a century later, the Chicago Symphony Center is getting ready to welcome its first restaurant, just a few steps away from The Art Institute of Chicago. While there are dozens of eating options near the orchestra hall, Forte will be the only eatery in the building, which used to be the home of Julius Berger. The restaurant will only have to compete with potbelly on the block.

“Levy Restaurants, in concert with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, is reimagining the food and beverage experience at Symphony Center,” according to the symphony’s website. “From lobby bars serving thoughtful selections to sit-down dining experiences and unforgettable private events, the two world-class institutions are now working together to deliver an elevated concert experience.”
