The company, led by Rich Labriola, will start the expansion with its 17th location coming to Mariano’s Oak Lawn at 11000 S. Cicero Ave. The company will hold a grand opening on October 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Following this, Stan’s Donuts & Coffee will expand to Mariano’s Ravenswood at 1800 W Lawrence Avenue, Mariano’s Bridgeport at 3145 S Ashland Avenue, and Mariano’s West Loop at 40 S Halsted Street. The last three sites are expected to open in Fall 2022, according to Chicago Food Magazine.

Three of these locations will be full-service stores, while the last will be a donut shop, representing four of the now 20 sites. When these locations have their grand opening later this year, customers will have a lot to look forward to. First, instead of a conventional ribbon cutting, Stan’s Donuts & Coffee will have a ceremonial donut cutting ceremony, filled with balloons, inflatable toy donuts, games, free samples, and merchandise. One lucky customer from each store will have the opportunity to win free donuts for a year by scanning a QR code specific to each location.

The new locations prove Labriola is nowhere close to slowing down. The business owner bought the company from founder Stan Berman, who launched the company from Los Angeles in 1963. Labriola opened his first Chicago location in 2014 and has opened 16 sites throughout Chicagoland. The company also has the 21st location coming to Uptown, opening sometime in Spring 2023.
