Lincoln Park is about to gain a new chicken restaurant, according to an advertisement placed with Craigslist on January 5th. “Looking for friendly and reliable people to open up a new concept in Lincoln Park,” reads the ad recruiting cashiers and cooks for Red Light Chicken.

The address listed is 2147 N. Sheffield Avenue, which indicates Red Light Chicken has taken over the storefront that last housed Devil Dawgs’ flagship location. Devil Dawgs shuttered its Lincoln Park storefront in 2020 after a decade of business.

Red Light Chicken does not have much of an online footprint just yet, but the advertisement shares its menu will be small, which makes sense given the storefront is only about 350 square-feet in size.

Red Light Chicken’s website describes the new eatery as a “quick, counter service restaurant offering fried chicken sandwiches and fries to carry out.” Rotating specials and catering services are also offered.

There’s no word yet on when the restaurant will be open and serving those sandwiches, but you can keep an eye on developments by finding Red Light Chicken online.
