Poke Bros, the Midwest-based brand will continue its home base expansion by opening a storefront at 1763 Richmond Road in McHenry. Lease intel obtained by What Now Chicago indicates a location of the fast-casual will open in a 1,500 square-foot retail space in a submarket that also houses a Jersey Mike’s and a Panera Bread.
The company, relatively young, is based out of Columbus, Ohio. Three friends, Scott McCarthy, Anthony Wellman, and Xuegong Chen, founded the company in 2016. Today, Poke Bros has 58 stores and counting, with most storefronts concentrated in the Midwest and along the East Coast.
As far as the menu goes, it’s pretty streamlined. Poke Bros offers the build-your-own bowl option, as well as signature bowls like the Johnny Utah, with salmon, avocado, edamame, cucumber, OG sauce, and sriracha aioli, and The Duke, a tuna, salmon, and shrimp bowl with seaweed salad, jalapeno, sweet onion, edamame, cucumber, ponzu, OG sauce, and gochujang. The brand also carries a variety of mochi ice cream flavors if you like to follow your meals with a touch of sweetness.
According to the brand’s website, a locations will open this year in Romeoville and Sherwood; a storefront recently opened in Bolingbrook.
