While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, in a world where exceptional coffee is sometimes considered an arcane art form, Tim Taylor, the visionary behind Pedestrian Coffee, dares to shatter these misconceptions, proving that superb coffee need not be exclusive or intimidating. Pedestrian Coffee was born from Tim’s passion to democratize remarkable coffee, making it accessible to everyday people.

Tim’s journey into the realm of coffee wasn’t necessarily love at first sip. His initial encounter with coffee was marked by a rather uninspiring Folgers experience at the tender age of 5. This unfavorable encounter kept him away from coffee for years. While navigating the landscapes of various jobs — from battling wildfires in Oregon’s forests to assisting travelers at Chicago’s bustling O’Hare Airport — Tim’s relationship with coffee underwent a transformation. College life introduced him to the wonders of coffee, slowly kindling his interest.

Tim initiated a farm-to-table roastery and retailer in 2008. This endeavor, known as Ipsento Coffee, swiftly gained acclaim in Chicago. Over the years, Ipsento flourished, becoming a symbol of ethical sourcing and impeccable brews. A decade later, Tim embarked on a new chapter, creating Pedestrian Coffee. He also serves on the board of the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, the governing body behind the renowned Cup of Excellence competition that rewards coffee growers of outstanding quality.

Pedestrian Coffee offers a wide array of bean options, such as Decaf Columbia, Guatemala Villaure, and their Hitch-Hicker blend, to name a few. In addition to their coffee options, they also provide wholesale options and subscription plans, according to the company website.
