One of Chicago’s finest hospitality groups is once again gearing up to develop their new restaurant planned for Wicker Park.
Hogsalt Hospitality was founded by Chicago restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff in 2010. Having trained in the kitchens of legendary chefs like Alain Ducasse and Thomas Keller, Sodikoff quickly accumulated a wealth of experience and soon began to develop the restaurant empire we know as Hogsalt Hospitality today.
Today, the renowned hospitality group now boasts over 13 luxury restaurants across the US. Some of the more impressive pieces of its portfolio include Chicago’s Au Cheval (and its New York counterpart), Bavette’s, Doughnut Vault, Gilt Bar, High Five Ramen, and Trivoli Tavern. All of their restaurants have earned serious acclaim from critics thanks to the team’s dedication to quality service.
Now, Sodikoff and the Hogsalt team are planning a brand new restaurant in Wicker Park. Moving into the space at 1661 North Milwaukee Avenue, the new restaurant will feature 4,800 square feet of space available for customers as well as an additional 4,830 square feet of space for an outdoor patio. The new restaurant will be replacing an auto service store that should offer plenty of room for the new concept.
While the news is very exciting, the restaurant is still very far off and is essentially still in the conception phase. Sodikoff confirmed with What Now Chicago that while development was progressing on the restaurant, the team still hasn’t decided on a name or general concept. The project is still maybe a year away from opening, and that’s all that Sodikoff was able to share for the time being. While you wait, you can check out Hogsalt’s family of restaurants for yourself to get a sense of what to expect in the new space.
