This new 75,000-square-foot facility will move into the former home of Sam’s Club near Fox Vallet Mall sometime next month in phases. The first phase, set for early next month, will feature a restaurant with Michelin star-winning chef Yani Sanchez and chef Devinder Utpaul, as well as a theater. Next, the convention and banquet hall will open by the end of September. Other features include a performing arts center, a yoga studio, an art gallery, and a state-of-the-art sound and light system.

“The concept has been in the works for the last 15 or 17 years, to get a synergy of different aspects of music, art, literature, and fine cuisine,” founder Madan Kulkarni tells The Daily Herald. “It’s a place for all these global cultures to get together and interact with each other.”

When this new multipurpose venue opens, it will host various weddings, corporate events, and concerts in its 2,200-seat banquet and concert hall. Although The Matrix Club isn’t opening until next month, the venue already has three proms booked for next year. As for food, the 200-seat restaurant will feature international cuisine and American fare. Kulkarni, who also founded The Meadows Club, is already considering an expansion, starting with two other cities before possibly making a return to the Chicago market.

“We’re kind of an international hub of culture and arts, and it’s so needed here,” Cherryl Marcey, the Matrix Club’s director of event sales and marketing, tells the publication. “Naperville has been very supportive. Every group we’ve approached to host their special occasion here has enjoyed walking through our space and understanding the concept and the fact that we can celebrate each other’s cultures and learn from each other this way.”
