Although the exact location and name of this new club is unknown, it is expected to open in late 2023. Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, one of Chicago’s largest hospitality groups, is partnering with New York-based Tao Group Hospitality for this new venture, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. Hong Kong-based designer Joyce Wang, who specializes in luxury hospitality, will design the interior. Further details have yet to be revealed, but the groups have confirmed in a statement that there will be a culinary focus for the club.

“We believe this project will bring a new, curated social and dining experience to our community,” Lettuce President R.J. Melman said in the statement.

In addition to this exclusive club, Lettuce Entertain You is also opening a new west-coast-style restaurant in West Loop. The Tao Group, on the other hand, operates over 70 clubs and businesses across 20 markets. Together, the two will contribute to the growing club scene in Chicago, with other clubs recently opening or coming soon to the area, such as Soho House and Astor Club. Other local hospitality groups are excited about the new club from Lettuce and Tao, including DineAmic Hospitality’s founder Luke Stoioff.

“I think it’s a good thing. I think it’s gonna help River North,” Stoioff tells Crain’s. “I’m excited to see it unfold, and you couldn’t ask for a couple of better groups doing it. Oftentimes, exclusivity has a certain allure to some people, but I think the bigger allure is the practical ability to have access to something. Especially if it was a last-minute occasion, I think access is the biggest allure.”
