The new bi-level restaurant brings upscale casual New England vibes to Chicago and accentuates the location’s sweeping riverfront views and outdoor space.

“We’re transforming the Marina City space into an immersive New England dining experience,” said Matt King, President and COO of Legal Sea Foods in a statement. “The design reflects what Chicagoans can look forward to from Legal Sea Foods — fresh, quality seafood combined with the finest hospitality.”

The new space honors the architectural significance of Marina City, locally referred to as the “corncob buildings.” The interior was designed around the signature curves of the building and is outfitted with fixtures and colors to create a modern, bright eastern seaboard feel.

The expansive river level space seats 240 guests and features a large bar area, main dining room, private event spaces and outdoor terraces overlooking the bustling Chicago Riverwalk. A curved staircase leads up to a more intimate upper-level Oyster Bar, with bar seating and tables for 30 guests.

The menu at the new Chicago location will include Legal Sea Foods’ New England specialties like Clam Chowder and Lobster Rolls, as well as new signature dishes such as Salt & Vinegar Crusted Icelandic Cod and Hoisin Glazed Norwegian Salmon. The Raw Bar will serve sushi, East Coast Oysters, New England Littleneck Clams, Colossal Shrimp, Gulf of Maine Lobster and more.

The bar features perfect pairings for the seafood-centric menu, including Legal Sea Foods’ Signature Sangrias, refreshing craft cocktails, wines from around the world and thoughtfully crafted non-alcoholic offerings.

The space is designed by Phase Zero Design and constructed by Chicago-based architecture firm Norr.
