In 2016, the company announced plans to add ten new locations in the Windy City. Six years later and Currito has opened four of those locations already. Now, franchisees Jay Punikollu and Raj Patel are getting ready to open their fifth location in Geneva by the end of May 2022. The other five locations are expected to open in the coming years. Other than the current Chicago locations, founders Joe and John Lanni of the Thunderdome Restaurant Group has opened 20 locations throughout Ohio and Northeast America.

Franchising is no new venture for either Patel or Punikollu. Both are involved with The Hari Group, with Patel serving as the president/ owner since 2011. The Naperville-based group specializes in franchising, investment, and real estate. They have an impressive franchise portfolio that spans over three states and 40 locations. Their brands include Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Tide Dry Cleaners, McAlister’s Deli, Buffalo Wings and Rings, and Tilted Kilt.

When the duo opens the rest of their fleet of Curritos, guests can expect the freshest, boldest new flavors, featuring antibiotic-free chicken and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant’s menu features grains prepared as a bowl or wrap; salads that can also be ordered as a wrap; smoothies, and shakes. The restaurant also offers plenty of kid-friendly options for your little ones or small snacks to get you through the day.
