The new Chipotle will be moving into the empty lot that was once home to Avenue Motors, adjacent to an already existent Raising Cane’s. The new development at the southeast corner of Randall and McKee Street will include a new Starbucks with a drive-through and a Belle Tire. There is no set opening date for the new tenants, but developers initially hoped to open the new business sometime in Spring 2022, with construction starting last fall. The new Chipotle will cover 2,600 square feet and have 31 parking spots.

There are still two more lots available on the former Avenue Motors property, according to Shaw Local. The first is at the south end of the property, next to the Chipotle site, while the other is on the east side of the access road, immediately south of the stormwater facility. Batavia Planning and Zoning Officer Joel Strassman said this area would likely be used to create a stormwater detention facility serving the new businesses instead of using it for commercial use.

This will be the first Chipotle in the city of Batavia. The next closest locations can be found in Geneva and Aurora. When this location opens, residents of Batavia will have much easier access to any of their bowls, burritos, tacos, or salads. Hopefully, customers will have a chance to try the company’s all-new pollo asado, which was released for a limited time early last month. Nonetheless, this new development will significantly improve the multiple shopping centers along Randall Road.
